What is SmoothGlo^™

SmoothGlo is a nonsurgical sequential treatment that targets the three biggest signs of aging skin - tone, texture, and volume. It also reduces excess pigmentation, laxity, acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles.   While it's usually done on the face, SmoothGlo can also be performed on the neck, chest, arms, the back of hands, and elsewhere on the body.

The treatment uses two complementary technologies; IPL, to erase the browns and reds; and RF Microneedling, allowing you to reap multiple benefits all in ONE VISIT!

The first portion of the treatment is with the StellarM22™ IPL, which removes both brown and red lesions improving overall tone, while increasing the water content in the skin. It's the increase in the skin's water content that amplifies the clinical effects of the second part of the treatment with the Legend Pro™ VoluDerm™ RF microneedling, which exposes the elevated moisture in the skin to an electrical charge that improves the texture, contour, and volume of the skin.

RF Microneedling
Microneedling creates micro-wounds in your skin to promote a natural healing process that leads to regeneration of elastin, collagen, and natural hyaluronic acid.  The pulses are delivered into the dermal layer thereby stimulating fibroblast activity which results in the natural production of hyaluronic acid (HA), elastin, and collagen.

While other treatments may only address one or two of the main causes of skin aging, SmoothGlo™ is the only treatment that addresses all four:

• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Loss of skin laxity (sagging)
• Dullness and uneven skin texture/tone
• Excess pigmentation (age spots)

What Can I Expect During a SmoothGlo^™ Treatment?

SmoothGlo treatments take 30 minutes to 1 hour.

A treatment session has two parts. During the first step, we use the StellarM22 IPL to remove brown and red skin lesions and improve your skin tone. This part of the process also increases the water content in your skin, which is important preparation for the rest of the appointment.

For the second step, we use Legend Pro Voluderm RF microneedling to improve your skin texture and volume. We also create contouring effects when exposing the enhanced moisture in your skin to an electric charge.

Immediately after treatment you can return to your daily activities. Stay out of direct sunlight for a few weeks and apply sunscreen regularly. You may experience some redness or swelling. This can last between a couple of hours to a few days. Your skin may feel warm for several hours after a SmoothGlo session and you may experience mild swelling for a few days afterward. It is normal for some redness, dryness, and minor scabbing to appear on the treated area. This will naturally heal within a week after treatment.
